Our Zoning Blueprint: Land Use Bylaw

Beaumont's Draft Land Use Bylaw is here!

Based on feedback received from stakeholders, public engagement events, and research conducted over several months, a draft of Our Zoning Blueprint: Land Use Bylaw has been prepared.

The Land Use Bylaw is a statutory document which provides Beaumont the tool to regulate and control the use and development of land and buildings in the community. Our Zoning Blueprint divides the municipality into specific districts that dictate what uses are permitted and/or discretionary, contains details on how to make applications for development permits; how and by whom decisions on applications are made; and the conditions that can be attached. The Land Use Bylaw also contains regulations regarding setbacks, landscaping, parking, building heights, and signage to name a few.

Now that the draft Land Use Bylaw is here we are reviewing and refining the Bylaw. Come and review the draft bylaw with us, ask questions, and provide feedback at our next drop in Open House:

Tuesday, January 29th
5:00 - 7:30pm
Ken Nichol Regional Recreation Centre
5303 50 Street

Please also see the attached Open House document to the right under Document Library.

  • I heard this morning that there will be 3 locations for cannabis sales in Beaumont. They said it was on the Let's Talk Beaumont site but I can't seem to find it.

    Bernie asked 3 months ago

  • Edmonton has allowed citizens to raise chicken in their backyards, will Beaumont follow? Maybe quail?

    nanyayahan asked 4 months ago

Currently Beaumont does not allow backyard chickens.  We conducted some preliminary research with respect to all forms of urban agriculture. Please see the following document

    https://www.beaumont.ab.ca/DocumentCenter/View/1867/Urban-Agriculture-in-Beaumont?bidId

The possibility of backyard chickens will require more extensive work to be done. Please contact the Current Planning department at 780-929-8782 for further information.

  • Hi, I’ve submitted several resumes (7-8) through the town, for a variety of positions listed on the ‘Careers’ section of the Town of Beaumont website. From service positions to skilled labour, one would think a callback was due eventually . I was wondering who I can speak to, to know where my resume could use some polishing or what is lacking in my approach. It’s beginning to get frustrating.
